HOW BLUEVILLE COME TO EXISTANCE
Over a decade ago Warren started a drum academy and enjoyed an immense amount of success teaching hundreds of students to play the drums. He was passionate about offering the best drum lesson service in the country and always treated the drum studio as a business from day one. His first real opportunity came when he was offered to open up a drum teaching studio in a very successful Music Store franchise. The drum lessons were a hit almost immediately and the business grew faster than Warren ever thought it would. He worked with hundreds of beginners to advanced drummers and also taught drummers such as Zan Kriegler (Drummer for Jo Black, Simeon van Der Westuizen (ex-drummer for Refenste) and others. In 2017 Warren formed an immensely successful online drum magazine called SA Drummer. The magazine was a hit in South Africa and also gained a lot of attention and recognition internationally. Wanting to combine the drum magazine and the drum academy, Warren decided to call the drum academy SA Drummer Academy. Before this, the drum academy just went under Warren’s name, Warren van Wyk Drum Studio. The drum academy was originally and still is situated in Johannesburg. Even though Warren enjoyed the success of the drum school, he always had a vision to expand it, which he did.
In 2021 Warren purchased a beautiful recording studio in Pretoria which has an immense amount of history in the South African Music industry. This opened up a whole new journey. This was the birth of Blueville Studio. Since purchasing the studio, Warren has recorded hundreds of drum tracks for artists and bands all over the world. Currently, Warren has recorded drums for artists in 32 countries. Locally, the studio has recorded drum tracks for artists and bands such as Jo Black, Bouwer Bosch, Jan Bloukass, Rubber Duc, Deon Meiring and many others. The drum recordings were super successful shortly after the studio was bought and with that, Warren decided to expand the studio and offer recording services for full band and artist productions. This is one of the exciting things Warren will be implementing in 2024.
